An investigation on the possibility of use of chlorophyll fluorescence to study the stomatal behaviour in plants under drought stress
Stomata play a key role in the control of plant water relations and photosynthesis. A rapid non-destructive method to study the stomatal behaviour in aerial parts of plants is important for researchers in plant sciences and agricultural fields. Stomata close in response to drought stress. Stomatal closure causes lower availability of CO2 inside the leaf and thus a decrease in the rate of carbox...
متن کاملProbing solution behaviour of metallosupramolecular complexes using pyrene fluorescence.
A new method for assessing the topology of metallosupramolecular assemblies using pyrene-appended ligands is reported. Two potentially tetradentate ligands containing one (L(1)) and two (L(2)) terminal pyrene moieties were synthesised and their complexes with Cu(+) and Cd(2+) were characterised. Photophysical measurements demonstrate that in [Cu(2)(L(1))(2)](2+), [CdL(1)](2+) and [Cu(2)(L(2))(2...
متن کاملExcitation wavelength dependent fluorescence behaviour of nano colloids of ZnO
In this paper, the fluorescence behaviour of nano colloids of ZnO has been studied as a function of the excitation wavelength. We have found that excitation at the tail of the absorption band gives rise to an emission that shifts with the change of the excitation wavelength. The excitation wavelength dependent shift of the fluorescence maximum is measured to be between 60 and 100 nm. This kind ...
متن کاملNon-Lambertian behaviour of fluorescence emission from solid amorphous material
The commonly made assumption of Lambertian behaviour of fluorescence emission has been studied in solid amorphous material. A goniofluorometer capable of measurements in measurement geometries from 0 : 10 to 0 : 85 has been used for this purpose. The measurements indicate that the fluorescence emission from solid amorphous material is clearly non-Lambertian.
متن کاملTools for Observing Study Behaviour
This paper describes some of the research into student learning behaviour being undertaken within the AESOP project. This project analyses data gathered by our electronic observatory, a non-intrusive mechanism for recording student actions as they undertake a series of pre-defined learning tasks. We have recorded the behaviour of a number of students on our award winning introductory computing ...
